Prayer Vigil
We are grateful to you for standing on the wall with us during the year of 2007. Because of your prayers we have witnessed many miracles this year.
One of our specific prayer requests was for the referendum that took place on December 2nd, of this year. The referendum included 69 amendments to the Venezuelan constitution. If passed religious freedom would have been in serious jeopardy. Also, if passed, the president would have become a lifetime dictator. The referendum did not pass. Space does not allow us to explain the magnitude of this miracle! Suffice it to say, God is in control!!
Another specific prayer request this year was for complete funding to construct the House of Hope. We received complete funding to construct one of the homes, and also a commitment for complete funding for a second home. Our immediate goal is to build 4 homes that will house 25 children each. We are so excited for what God is doing with the ministry here in Venezuela.
Don't stop praying! We appreciate your faithfulness in standing with us during this prayer vigil of 2007. We are so grateful that God has sent prayer warriors to stand in the gap with us and fight for the nation of Venezuela and the Kingdom of God.

Mission Teams
Ambassadors for Christ Ministries is in need of monthly mission teams! We need teams who will commit to a minimum of 10 days to help us construct the home, the fence, and the chapel.
We will begin the construction of the home and the fence in January. If you are interested in bringing a team or being part of a team, please email us immediately!!! marksr@afcm1.org.
In January and February, teams should consist of general laborers and block layers. For March and April we need electricians, plumbers, and general laborers.
Please visit our website (Mission Trips) and consider lending a helping hand! We appreciate your support in this endeavor. |

All I Want for Christmas...
When I was younger I remember the song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" playing on the radio. Later as I grew up the list of what I really wanted for Christmas seemed to grow. I soon wanted remote controlled cars, the latest action hero, bicycles, and the list goes on. I remember saying "all I want for Christmas is ______" many years in a row.
Do you remember when the electronic game Simon was the craze? I sure wanted a Simon game. Now kids want computer games, video games, computers, fashion clothing, etc. They want the latest and the greatest. We adults participate by providing said items with the feeling that if we do not we are not being good parents. If we don't; we feel we are not showing our kids that we really love them.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we in the body of Christ developed the belief and desire that this season really is about Him. What if we started saying "All I want for Christmas is to know Him and make Him known"? Of course there is the traditional "moment" either in church on Christmas Sunday or around the dinner table on Christmas Day when we pause for a moment to expound on what the true meaning of Christmas really is. When will we really teach our kids not by a "moment" but by a lifestyle representing "All I want for Christmas is Christ". I am not saying "bah humbug" and do away with gift giving to show love. But, let us show love and Christ by giving to those outside of family and friends. What about that neighbor that does not smile at you? What about the co-worker that always seems to be down? What about your classmate?&nbs
p; Let's give them Christ. Not in word only, but in deed also. All I want for Christmas... is Christ!!!

Current Prayer Requests
Pray for workers and volunteers to help us with the construction phase.
We are praying for mission teams to come down monthly, in the year of 2008.
Continue to remember the children that we minister to in the barrios and ranchos and the children who are still in the streets; that we can rescue as many as possible.
Pray that God will send helpers to work with us in the daily operations of the property.
We urgently need individuals (short term missionaries) who are willing to commit to working with us here in Venezuela for 6 months or longer. | |
