Prayer Vigil
Thank you so much for participating in the prayer vigil with us. We have asked as many as would join us to pray with us between the hours of midnight and 6:00a.m. We are doing spiritual warfare against the forces of evil in this region! We have set aside this time to pray and intercede on behalf of the souls that we must snatch from the fire. (Jude 1:22) For us to rescue the perishing children, we must also effectively affect their environment. So, we must first and foremost come against the forces of darkness in this region!
We appreciate each and every one of you who will sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom! We have a task to do while it is day, the night is coming, and it is rapidly approaching us, when no one will be able to work. We know that God is moving and we are excited to see the changes happening in Tocuyito. |

Vacation Bible School
Last year we conducted a Vacation Bible school in one of the ranchos where we minister regularly. It was a huge success. We were able to teach some 50 children Bible truths that many of us take for granted.
This year we had a 2 day VBS while Pastor Denise and Ann Johnson were here. We were in Tocuyito, the area where the finca is located, and there were 16 children who participated. We were excited about the number of children because they all walked to and from in the rain! Of all the children that participated, not one had ever seen a Bible before. We are grateful that we were able to give Bibles to these kids as well as pass out Bibles at the local school.
On the 20th of this month, we are planning to facilitate a full week of VBS. We are extremely excited for this opportunity to reach the children. We know that if we reach the children we will reach many of the other family members as well. As we have mentioned prior, this area is steeped in witchcraft, and Satanism. But we are coming against the forces of darkness in that area. It is not an easy task, but we also know that if God is for us then who can be against us. And greater is HE that is in us than he that is in the world. We serve the one true living God and by HIS grace we are more than c
onquerors. Please continue to remember us in your prayers, especially during the week of August 20th. |

A Game of Soccer!!
Mark Jr. and Jackson have started playing soccer with a school league. We are grateful that they are able to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports. This is the perfect opportunity for them to meet new friends, to enhance their language acquisition skills, and to be a witness for Christ. Mark Jr. is so excited about his participation; each week he eagerly looks forward to the practices and games. We are extremely thankful for our children's acclimation and adjustment to living here in Venezuela. They have adopted Venezuela as home and the fact that they have adapted so well to our new home has been a burden lifted from Mark and myself

Consider the Ant!
Life at the finca can be full of surprises. One morning we awoke to ants everywhere!! They had covered the outside of the house and were coming inside as well. The walls of the house were swiftly filling with ants. We did our best to eradicate them. We thought we had solved the problem, but the next morning we awoke to more of the same! After a couple of hours of fighting ants, we discovered the source. There were 2 large trees in the yard near the house that were teeming with ants; the reason being, the ants had attacked a termite's nest in one of the trees and also seve
ral wasps' nest that were on the house.
While observing the ants, I thought of the scripture in Proverbs that tells us to carefully watch the ant and consider how they live. They do not have rulers, or overseers, or guides, but they work during harvest so that they will have enough stored up for winter. As I watched the ants I noticed that they were unified, determined and that they all moved in the same direction towards the same goal. While it was not a pleasant experience to have ants invade the house, it was most intriguing to observe their ways. As the Bible says, consider the ant, or carefully scrutinize her behavior and gain wisdom.

Clearing the Land
We were so grateful to have Pastor Denise Millben and Ann Johnson come down in June to help with the ministry. We had a great time of fellowship, prayer, and sharing the gospel with the neighbors and children of Tocuyito. Even though it rained everyday, we were still fruitful in clearing the land and working on a garden.
